Professor Nick Bacon, Clinical Director, Oncologic & Soft Tissue Surgery at Fitzpatrick Referrals, said:
“Having this sophisticated contrast injection process will enable our radiologists to identify greater numbers of tumour features more reliably and will help to ensure the most accurate diagnosis. This will allow our surgeons to more accurately identify normal tissue from cancerous tissue, making for safer, and ultimately more successful cancer surgeries. Everyone wins, especially the patient.”
The Rumba Foundation has donated £14,500 to cover the cost of the FROST team’s CT Injector Pump.
Founding Trustee Fiona Hindle said:“It’s so exciting to know that our donation will enhance the diagnosis and treatment of tumours. The fact that Rumba has been able to fund this piece of equipment means that reduced costs to the FROST team will benefit patient owners.”
“Thanks to Rumba’s generosity, the addition of the Injector Pump to our oncology toolkit represents another huge advancement in our patient care”,added Nick Bacon.“Not only that - our reported findings will assist with the onward progress in the field of oncologic imaging.”
